International Hospital Federation’s (IHF) mission is to improve world health. This is achieved through the global exchange of experience and management techniques, 
and by encouraging the development of international camaraderie among health 
service professionals – IHF members.

IHF has identified certain needs among its members regarding hospital management in general and patient satisfaction in specific.

To meet the members’ needs IHF has initiated a global index, the International Patient Satisfaction Index, IPSI.
